I carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Favorite moments

There are a few moments that happen daily in my house that remind me every day just how lucky I am to not only be a mother, but to be THE mother to the most adorably perfect little boys ever created.

(In no particular order)

Walking into the boys' room in the morning to get Oliver.
As soon as he lays eyes on me his face lights up! He gets the biggest, sweetest smile on that sweet cherubic face of his and waves at me in excitement. Instantly I excitedly says "BABY!! Good morning Ollie!" and he climbs up to the railing and starts with the sweet "gimme gimme hands" wanting me to pick him up. It's my favorite way to wake up.

Mine and Wesley's daily snuggle session.
Every single day Wes and I snuggle for at least 30 minutes in my bed. Usually it's when he wakes up and comes in my room, sometimes it's later in the day, and sometimes it's at night when we both decide he should sleep with mommy. We talk about what we're going to do that day or the next, dreams we had and how much we love each other. 30 minutes of bonding and bliss. We both crave that mommy/Wesley time that for 3.5yrs was endless, and now can be hard to come by.

Checking in on the boys after they've gone to bed.
On my way to bed every night I go into the boys room to check on them. I always go to each of them and rub their face and tell them good night and I love them one more time. Best way to end the night.

Oliver's XOXO.
Oliver still does the open mouth baby kisses and they are so sweet! Sometimes he slips a little tongue in with it and sometimes a little teeth lol. My favorites are when he gets so caught up in love he gives me a kiss and then grabs my face and pulls me in for more and won't let go until he's done! He also gives the sweetest squeeze hugs ever. He's so loving and sweet and he sure does love his mama.

Random nice words from Wesley.
It's not secret that Wesley is THE sweetest child in existence. I am sure of it. Not a day goes by that he doesn't have something ubber sweet to lift my spirits and make me smile. Any time I get dressed to go somewhere and even on days when I'm just in PJs he tells me I look beautiful or pretty and occasionally handsome :). Every day he tells me he loves me. I love when he tells me I'm "the best mom he's ever loved" and we argue over who loves who the most.

Lucky.

Soft & Sweet

This week over at I <3 faces they are doing a soft and sweet challenge. Right away I thought of this shoot I did of Oliver at 6 months. This one took a couple of tries to get. He's either throw up all over his pj's or wasn't quite ready to sit up in the bed without some help. Finally I was able to get a couple that I love. At that point in his little life he loved anything soft and snuggley and these are all his little stuffed toys he slept with of played with during the day.

Head on over to I hearts faces to check out the other entries and enter yourself!

Monthly Tree {April} & Easter

Some how I never got around to posting their tree this month so I'll post the one from Easter. I took pictures on the 1st but was going to get more eggs and never did.

The tree of course was done up for Easter with pretty sparkly Easter eggs.
The ones hanging from ribbon I actually got on our trip to Indiana a couple of years ago.

The kids had fun on Easter. It was pretty low key this year.

We had an indoor egg hunt which Wes LOVED. There were 14 eggs hidden in the kid's playroom, livingroom, and their bathroom. Next year I think I'm going to hide them harder and leave clues in the eggs to find the next.

Oliver kept sneaking candy from the eggs which he promptly spit right back out lol. And Wesley had a nutritional breakfast of jelly beans  :)

Charlie did some snoozing of course lol

Mom came over and we had Crock Pot Lasagna for lunch which was delish.

And the boys had a blast popping bubbles. Oliver was SUPER excited about the bubbles lol.

And Wesley just wouldn't be a great big brother if he didn't teach his 13month old brother to hit the bubbles with a shovel lol

A Birthday Carnival

Oliver's party seemed to be a huge hit among the party goers.
There was a ton of people there and to say it was chaotic would be an understatement.
I had it all planned out how it would all flow and well none of that happened. The place was so big that the kids just kinda flew, but overall it was a great party and Oliver and Wesley had a BLAST!

The location

Here are some of the details.
A before of the Gazebo

And after

The games

The Candy buffet was a huge hit both with the kids and the adults

It included tons of different colorful candy and I made mini carmel apples, Devil's food m&m cookies, and Chocolate & Vanilla Cake pops.
Oliver loves these cookies

The 'Popcorn' Red Velvet cupcakes

Funfetti Clown cupcakes
There was also some rainbow swirl Chocolate cupcakes.

Along with the games and playground there was a 'photobooth' set up and Charlie and I made some cute little props to be used with it.
Everyone really had a good time with this but o boy was it trouble! We had it set up on my backdrop stand and the wind kept knocking it over after we had a last minute change of plans on the set up. Thankfully a friend of our's figured out a way to tie it to the gazebo for stability and we were in business.

Oliver loved being passed around. He was giggling all day. He loves attention

Oliver had SO much and passed out for 2hours after. We actually had to wake him up for dinner.

And the amount of awesome gifts he got was outrageous! He really is so very loved.
Our house looked like a toy store exploded for a couple of days but we finally got it all put away.

Thanks again SO much to everyone who came out to celebrate Oliver's special day. He really had SO much fun

Caught ya!

Oliver loves food.
Any kind of food.
And yesterday (3.31) he got caught twice, red handed sneaking food.

The first time Charlie and I were hanging out on the couch watching a movie and I was cooling off Oliver some Mac n Cheese for lunch. We heard him playing in the kitchen, he likes to play with the Leap Frog Alphabet magnets on the fridge, and I asked Charlie to go grab him so he could eat. Charlie rounds the corner and says "Um, he's not hungry."
I instantly started laughing because I knew that meant he had found something to eat.
I go into the dining room and see Oliver covered in CAKE! He had gotten what was left from his cake smash cake on top of a table, pulled it down into the floor, found a way into the tin foil and started chowing down.
He, and we, thought it was hilarious!

I got him all cleaned up and fed him, he of course still ate the whole bowel of Mac n Cheese.
Me and Charlie kept watching our movie while Oliver crawled around playing and we look over and he had gotten my purse down from the chair and had found a 1/2 eaten Fiber One granola bar and was eating that as well!

He's like a bottomless pit!
Always, always eating!
Always hungry or thirsty.
Always.
He really keeps us on our toes and entertained.

One.

He's one.

Our precious little love muffin has hit the BIG NUMERO UNO!

It seems like just yesterday I held our sweet new addition in my arms for the very 1st time.

Falling in love at the very 1st sight of those full lips and dimpled chin.

Completely in Awe of his beauty.
He was perfection and I felt SO happy he was mine and I was his.

He has changed so much in his 1st year of life.
Not only in looks but in happiness.
We had those rough, rough, ROUGH few months of acid reflux and late forming colic that I thought I'd never get through.
But I did.
And it makes me appreciate every.single.smile. even more

He looks so different from when he was 1st born.

A few things he loves now are
Wesley chasing him down the hall
Anything edible
Attention
Being snuggled
Being tickled
Making us laugh

He's such a little clown and loves to make silly faces and noises so we'll laugh at him and then he does his little fake laugh which makes us just laugh harder.

Today for his birthday we let him dive into his very own birthday cake for a little cake smash session.
This kid loves to eat so I assumed this would be a shoot he'd actually enjoy and enjoy he did

His birthday party is on Saturday.
The birthday party I've been working on for months and will be SO happy for it to be over!
Can't wait to see everyone there. Celebrating our littlest loves very 1st year in our hearts.
