Wesley's birthday {a 2 day celebration}

Wes had the best birthday any kid could ask for and the celebration lasted 2 days!

We asked him months ago what he wanted to do for his birthday... Birthday party or go somewhere and he said he wanted to go to the zoo and never once changed his mind.

So the celebration began at a very early 5am on 10-19 with a yummy breakfast with pink milk and a 3hr drive to the NC Zoo.

Can  you tell they were excited?? :)

We got there about 9:45am & were all excited... we haven't been there since Wes was about a 18months!

It started out with perfect weather... nice and cool with a breeze.
And then the sun came out.
And it was HOT and it was all up hill!! =O
Definitely didn't remember that part lol.
None of the adults had gotten any sleep. I think I finally fell asleep sometime after 2am.
It made for an exhausting day especially for Charlie who drove and worked until 2am the night before.

The Elephants were one of the 1st we saw and then after that a lot of the animals were ASLEEP  O_o

We rode the carousel. 3 times.
Oliver's 1st 3 times and it's also the 1st place Wes rode a carousel :D
Everyone was so tired when it was time to leave (we were there until almost 5pm) but we had SO much fun!
Day 2
"Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to Y-O-U
Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to yyooooooouuuuuuuu
This is gonna be the best day ever!"

I heard lots and lots of Spongebob singing..

We started off the morning by giving Wes his big birthday gift (he got lots of other stuff throughout the week that Daddy couldn't wait to give him lol) and obviously his card.
He loved both.

We asked Wes what he wanted to do and where he wanted to eat for lunch.
He picked the park and our favorite fish place, Bubba's.
We had a delicious lunch and then went to two different parks.
Wes had lots of fun running around with a couple of boys at the parks and Oliver loves to swing.

We went to mom's that afternoon to drop Oliver off and he opened his gifts from maw maw and Aunt Amber, we sang Happy Birthday and let him blow out the candles on his cake,
Which might I add was a 2 layer cake [confetti & devil's food] with chocolate icing & mini m&m's in the middle... any kids dream right?
Wes never even ate a piece

Then we were off to Dixie Stampede!

Amber and Ariel joined us.

While there I found out that I am allergic to horses {aaaa aaaa aaaaa CHOOOOO}
It sucked
But Wes had a blast!

We were just there a couple of months ago but we sat further back.
That night, we were front row!
He cheered and yelled and stomped his feet.
And all of his hard work paid off when it was the women's time to compete and our side won and one of the lady's gave him a carnation.
He was so proud of that flower. He wouldn't put it down.

By the end of the night he was going around singing, "It's the best day everrrrrrr" :)
And it made my heart happy to know that I had given him a great birthday.
You only turn 4 once after all.

We ended the night curled up on the couch, Wes, Charlie & myself and watched 'How to Train Your Dragons' that he got from his Aunt Amber.
It was a perfect birthday.
