Who has 2 thumbs and a 5month old baby boy?!

That would be this proud mama!

Its hard to believe it's been 5 whole months now since we welcomed this sweet little being into our world & yet I barely remember a time without him.

He loves:
His Jumperoo,
mommy,
laying on his back kicking,
soft, fluffy toys,
eating his hands,
screaming,
sticking out his tongue,
being tickled,
cuddling,
his paci,
bath time,
going swimming,
flinging himself back and forth (rocking)

He's not a fan of:
Sleeping (still),
Being on his belly,

and worst of all....
HAVING HIS PICTURE TAKEN!
:'( So sad, so very very sad.
O well guess he'll have to be tortured :)

We actually got him to eat some cereal today with a little bit of banana mixed in for some flavor and he didn't even throw any of it up! It was so nice!

He was quite pleased with himself :)

And now on to the 5month pics. He moved like crazy, squirming and kicking all over the place and just having so much fun. He made very little eye contact and I only got 1 smile out of him :( O well I'm still pleased with the outcome.

And because he always stays true to himself and goes out in true Oliver style :)

O crafts how I love thee

There are many things in life that make me happy but I'd have to say my top 3 are:
(in no particular order)

Wesley randomly telling me how much he loves me.
Oliver so sweet gummy smile.
A good craft project.

Any craft project.
Tutus, bows, painting.... anything (ie our awesome $1  frames), making over... anything (ie: Oliver's awesome dresser), fleece/fabric flowers, craft time with Wesley, baking crazy concoctions, etc etc etc.
Any thankfully my husband fully supports my craftiness <3

I have mounds of ribbon, buckets of different types of paint, piles of paper in varying shades of awesomeness, leaps of fleece and fabrics and toile, any kind of ziggy zaggy scissor, buttons and stickers and rub ons, pom poms, glitter, rhinestones and pearls. You name it and I probably have it, and every inch of it all makes me happy.

As of late I have been making some super cute fleece flower headbands which I'm in LOVE with! They are so cute and dainty and work perfect for newborn props :)

I've also been doing a frame project that is FINALLY finished and fabulous if I do say so myself! It's going down our hallway and most of the frames I already had and what I didn't I got for just $1 at either the Dollar Store or Michael's (the thick colorful wood ones are from Michael's) and I just revamped them with lots of spray paint & water colors.
I originally got the idea from this picture
which was posted by photographer Laura Winslow on her photography board where she does a  "wall art Wednesday" (which I look forward to each week) blog here
I love all of the color and the idea of adding in the kids artwork into it and since we can't really paint I thought this would be perfect!
And it definitely makes this place feel more "home-y"

Now to keep them all straight =o
& I promise they aren't as crooked as they appear in the pics ;)

Some have extra little fun touches like my fleece flowers and foam letters

Also I've been getting frames ready for the boys soon-to-be play room and I'm super stoked on those! They came out perfect! Exactly what I was envisioning. And since it'll be a little while before they are able to go up here's a little preview of those.
I really can not wait for these to go up!!
(And yay for some Zebra print! With all the testosterone roaming through this house I have to have some "me" somewhere!)

And to add some yumminess to the blog here's my latest yummy concoction which has been a huge hit!
Ice cream cake cupcakes!
Yum!
This yummo recipe came from a photography board and is scrumptious!

He's not a baby anymore :(

The other morning I woke up to the most perfect little 3yr old face staring back at me and I almost had to look twice.

He looked SO much older!

When did he get so big?!

When did he stop being my little baby boy and become my big boy??

When did he stop being a baby, a toddler even, and become a... boy.
Just a boy.
A kid boy.

He's going to be 4 so very soon.
Too soon.
& I'm kind of sad...

But he still loves to snuggle. He still calls me mommy & kisses me in public.
So for that, he's still little.

But before long he won't be. & well that's just a sad thought.

It was just 3yrs and 10months ago that he blessed our lives with his perfectness and its amazing the changes that can occur in just 3 yrs.

He went from a newborn,
to a baby,
to a toddler,
to a kid.

Next he'll be a teenager!!

Thank God that's not for another 9 years 2 months!

Wesley I love you more then all the stars in the sky.
An infinity plus 1.
You will forever be my baby boy.
My 1st born.
My 1st love.
My Booba.

Morning Rituals

Since Oliver has graced our lives with his HUGE presence Wes has been smitten.
Completely and utterly IN LOVE with his "baby Oliber"
And every since the day we brought him home he has been right by his side all day... Everyday.
& every morning Wes wakes up... comes in our room.. and looks for Oliver.

Some days he's in his crib.
Other's we've just gotten up with him so he's in the bed already.

If he's in the bed Wes climbs up beside him and the lovin' begins!
He turns them on some cartoons and he kisses him all over and hugs him and tell him how much he loves him.

But when he's in his crib... I must get him out!
Wes demands to have him.

He loves him more then I could have ever imagined he would...
Or even could.

Well this morning was like any other.
I already had Oliver out of the bed and he was snuggled up with me but was on the outside of the bed.
I wake up to Wesley trying to squeeze into the nonexistent space between Oliver and the edge of the bed.

Me- "Wesley go lay on the other side."
Wes- "Well can  you put baby Oliver over there with me?!"

So I did and rolled back over to get the remote and when I rolled back to give it to Wesley he had Oliver laying on his chest.... Pretty much face to face...
And Oliver was licking his FACE! Pretty much licking his eye!

I just laughed.

Wesley couldn't have cared less. He just kept snuggling him and kissing him.

I moved Oliver down some and wiped off Wesley face (it was covered in slobber), and we just laughed at how silly baby Oliver is.
(I don't think he'll ever JUST be Oliver to Wesley)

Oliver kept trying to roll off of Wes and he kept picking him up by the butt part of his onsie and putting him back onto his chest.

Then he asked if he could just hold him.. so he sat up and and I put him in his lap
(Oliver looks huge in Wes' lap.)
And they watched some SpongeBob Squarepants & snuggled.

After a little while Wes got tired and we sat Oliver up beside him and they just watched cartoons, talked and played.

It's a wonderful way to wake up.

I have sister...

We don't have the same parents.

But she is my sister.
My other half.
Has been since the day she was born.
And I love her so very much more then she'll ever know.
We don't talk as much as we use to
which sucks.
But all of my greatest childhood memories involve her.

I know she'll always be there if ever I need her
& Vise Versa.
She is and always will be my best... very best... friend.

She gets me.
And I get her.
Even when no one else does.
And I support her through everything.

So Mariam this is for you.
To let you know just how much I love and adore you,
as my sister,
and very best friend.
No matter what.
And I'm always here for you.
Just a phone call away.

Faces

Oliver makes some killer faces.

He cracks me up with some of the sillyness that comes upon that sweet, perfect little face of his... I'm expecting nothing but trouble from him one day

But when he smiles... O when he smiles that sweet, perfect smile of his my heart melts into a big pile of goo. His whole faces lights up and so does my world... any troubles washed away with just a little smirk, and I just know he'll be something special. A wonderful person. He'll change the world and because of him someone's life will be changed, for the better. I just know he'll do great things.
